Description
New York Beauty Foundation Piecing Class
The New York Beauty block is a dramatic patchwork classic, known for its sweeping curves and striking spiked arcs. In this workshop, you’ll learn to piece this stunning block using a foundation method on Stitch & Tear. This stabilizing product helps you keep your fabric stable and your points crisp as you piece each section.
In class, you will:
• Understand how foundation piecing works step-by-step
• Use Stitch & Tear to support your fabric for accurate piecing
• Position and sew fabric for crisp points and alignment
• Remove the Stitch & Tear foundation once your block is complete
You’ll create one or two New York Beauty blocks during the session to get comfortable with the technique. Afterward, you can continue at home and:
– Make more blocks for a table runner
– Use four blocks with a border for a cushion
– Build a full New York Beauty quilt if you wish

Please bring your sewing machine (with manual), a coordinating thread, and 4 fat quarters (feel free to choose more or fewer fabrics to suit your design a minimum of two is required) 5 inches of Stitch and tear (available in the shop) You’ll also need some pins, a stick glue (like a Pritt stick), a small piece of cardboard (a cereal box works perfectly), and an iron and pressing station.
