Description

February Block Of The Month

Step into the world of slow sewing with our February Block of the Month, the second installment of a brand-new program designed to provide you with moments of mindful creativity. As we navigate the fast-paced currents of the modern world, this program invites you to embrace the therapeutic art of slow stitching, allowing you to savor the process of creating something beautiful with your own hands.

But it doesn’t stop there—join our dedicated community on Facebook by searching for “Slow Sewing in a Fast World.” In this supportive group, I’ll personally guide you through the process, sharing insights and inspiration as I create my own block. It’s a space to connect with fellow enthusiasts, exchange ideas, and celebrate the joy of slow stitching together.

Each kit comes complete with all the essentials you need to embark on your slow sewing journey. The package includes instructions, a curated selection of fabrics, and high-quality DMC embroidery floss to bring your block to life. The goal is to encourage you to spend a little time each month sewing by hand, fostering a sense of connection with your craft and a deeper appreciation for the art of quilting.

To ensure you have everything you need, the kit includes fabrics and threads, but you’ll also require a few tools from your sewing arsenal. A sewing needle and an embroidery needle are essential, along with cotton thread for appliqué and an iron to transfer the pattern.  If you have not had the January block you will also need a hot iron transfer pen.  The entire kit is thoughtfully packaged in a compact cardboard box, making it convenient to carry and enabling you to sew on the go.

Starting on the first of each month throughout 2024, we will unveil a new house block kit. Each block, once completed, measures six inches, allowing you to gradually build a collection of unique and charming blocks. You have the flexibility to choose the blocks that resonate with you, purchasing them individually as you go or opting for a subscription to receive a new kit each month.

To sign up for the program, simply reach out to me at Mary@patchworkdreamer.co.uk with your email address, and I’ll send you an invoice on the first of each month. The cost may vary slightly from month to month but will not exceed £9, ensuring accessibility to all who wish to partake in this slow sewing journey. Please note that purchasing an individual block does not automatically enroll you in the program—contact me directly to join this community of mindful crafters.

What’s truly exciting about these house blocks is their versatility. There’s no predetermined end piece, allowing you the freedom to transform them into whatever your heart desires. Create a stunning wall hanging, fashion a few into a charming cushion, or frame them with either traditional frames or embroidery hoops for a touch of timeless elegance.
