Description
Quilt As You Go Rag Quilt French Roses by Allison Maryon from Sewing Street
A quilt that has instant ‘hugability’ that comes together really quickly. If, like me, you like the homely look, this workshop is for you. As it is a ‘Quilt as you go’ project, there is no revisiting to sandwich and quilt. You will work on individual squares, adding the roses, quilt the squares and then piece them together. You will learn how the snipping gives various degrees of ‘raggedness’.
You never have to have more than the half inch seam allowance under the sewing machine.
It would be helpful, because of space, for you to have your 24 background fabric 12” x 12” squares and 12 wadding, 11” X 11” squares already cut. Don’t worry if you do have to cut out on the day, you will just have more to finish at home. DO NOT PRE-WASH YOUR FABRICS!!!! Pop in to see me, and I will give you a cutting guide. This is because the background fabric needs to be cut on the bias. I will explain why during the workshop.
If you struggle with the bias cutting let me know and I will help you before the day so you are ready.
You can use which wadding you like. Polyester will give a more lofty finish than a cotton or 80/20.
